About
Thought:Process is a work health and safety consultancy specialising in psychological health and safety, also known as the psychosocial risk management approach.

Psychosocial risk management is not about creating work environments that are 'easy' or without challenges. In fact, such work can be boring and unstimulating - and, paradoxically, not good for people, and not good for business. Rather, the aim of psychosocial risk management is to design, organise, and manage work in ways which maximise positive outcomes for people and organisations, while at the same time minimising risks to health and wellbeing.

Principal consultant, Dr Louise Deacon, is an experienced, qualified, psychological health and safety researcher and practitioner, with over fifteen years relevant experience working with organisations and communities in this field.

Dr Deacon holds a PhD in Management. Her doctoral research examined the application of work health and safety law to psychosocial risks, reviewing international interpretation and practice, and comparing this to the New Zealand context. She is a member of Massey University's Healthy Work Group.
As a facilitator and trainer, she has designed and delivered over 1000 hours of in-person and online training sessions, workshops, and focus groups with over 100 organisations on various aspects of mental health and wellbeing at work.

With a deep understanding of various approaches to mental health and wellbeing at work, Dr Deacon draws on the research evidence, international best practice, and practical experience to support organisations to achieve psychologically healthy and safe workplaces.

Thought:Process works with a network of suitably qualified associates to assist on larger pieces of work.
